Kaupakuea Homestead Road in Pepe‘ekeo Reduced to One Lane Traffic on July 22 & 23

Kaupakuea Homestead Road in Pepe‘ekeo will be reduced to one lane of traffic on Monday, July 22, 2019, and Tuesday, July 23, 2019, due to soils investigation for the Makea Stream Bridge. Work will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.

The soils investigation is being conducted for the temporary bridge and permanent bridge foundation design. The bridge, located on Kaupakuea Homestead Road, was damaged last year during Hurricane Lane.

During the scheduled work motorists are advised to drive with caution. Road signs will be posted and personnel will be directing traffic.

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.

If there are any questions or concerns about the bridge work, please call the DPW Special Projects Division at 961-8926 or 961-8586.
